And – naturally – there are the details: should the breast squint laterally or preferably medially? Does the size of the areola fit the new size of the breast? As sure as there is no “standard” breast, for every patient a different implant is ideal. The cushion with ideal volume may be ordered with different width or basis diameter, smooth or structured surface, filled with different substances. Or is the titanium coated implant the one for you?
An indepth consultation also makes sense for another reason: as different as there are implants as different there are operating methods: Which hospital do you prefer? Where should the scar be placed: in the axilla where it is literally invisible, even with the arms lifted? Or near the natural crease under the breast? Around or through the areola? Or is the navel suitable? Differences in effort and cost may be considerable.
As part of intensive consultation, every patient receives written individual instructions how to behave before, during, and after the operation. There is also an individual legal leaflet. All together is aimed to reduce risks to a minimum.
