LiposuctionThere are two layers of fat between muscle and skin which store in a different way. In the abdomen it is the deep layer, in the hips the superficial one – both may be reduced by suction. The task is not to suction superfluous fat a little bit here and there, but Dr. Metka plans and designs with the patient according to the eternal rules of beauty (Project Classicism). So you get near the ideal figure.

Compared with the situation in sculpturing with marble here, too, the ideal figure is buried somewhere in the fat and has to be exposed by the artist. When Dr. Metka started to use this method several years ago he had doubts about the soundness of his activity. Although not always the body of a Venus is achieved, harmonization is beneficial: enthusiasm of patients convinced the sceptical doctor. “Patients are overwhelmed to get rid of these detested problem zones” reports Dr. Metka. “To measure 10 or 15 cm less at the waist is a measurable gain of quality of life – there are people who go to the beach for the first time in years or take part in a bike tour.”

The malicious characteristic of problem zones is their complete lack of reaction to dieting or sports, explains Dr. Metka, and names these hated zones: In women it is the “riding breeches”, the hips, (lower) abdomen, the buttocks (with “banana”), thighs – the inner as well outer aspect, the surrounding of the knees, calfs, and ankles, but eventually also the neck, cheeks and nasolabial folds. In men unwanted fat mostly is deposited in the abdomen (“beer belly”, paunch, “brioche”) or around the lumbar region (“spare tire”), double chin or in the breast region. Even in a body builder breasts may sag flabbily.

Completely different the judgement considering fat distribution: Little deviation of the ideal disturbs looks considerably. Conscious nutrition and periodical exercise are important aids to keep the body in good shape and form.
